Describe the National Healthcare Issue/Stressor Selected

The shortage of nurses is a global issue, impacting the quality of health care, satisAssignment on Nurses Shortage Solved Assignment on Nurses Shortage Solved faction and motivation of patients and nurses. The estimated cases is anticipated to reach 12.9 million by 2035. WHO states that if no solution is found, it will have severe implications on the health of millions and billions, limiting the attainment of development goals and undermining sustainable development goals.

The Impact of the Stressor on the Organization

The Quadruple Aim is a framework for improving healthcare outcomes, patient satisfaction, and provider well-being while decreasing costs. Addressing nursing shortages is critical to achieving the Quadruple Aim because it improves provider well-being and patient satisfaction. In my Organization, the nursing shortage is a significant problem affecting healthcare delivery. At the Organization, there are long working hours and few nurses for each shift leading to nursing burnout and stress. Burnout is a psychological syndrome leading to decreased job satisfaction, increased absenteeism, and turnover. The Organization’s lack of leadership support further compounds the problems, putting additional pressure on nurses. The lack of leadership also leads to unethical behavior and increased patient risk. It, therefore, indicates the need for an adequate number of nurses to ensure that patients receive the highest quality of care and that their safety is not compromised.

A Brief Summary of the Two Articles Reviewed from the Outside Resources on the National Issue/Stressor

The article by Susan et al. (2017) emphasizes the significance of addressing the nurse shortage to provide high-quality patient care. The nursing shortage has increased stress and burnout among nurses, which can jeopardize patient safety and quality of care. The authors recommend recruiting and retaining more nurses, providing leadership support, and improving working conditions to address the nurse shortage. Healthcare organizations can improve patient safety and quality of care by doing so.

Marc et al. (2019) investigates the causes and consequences of the nursing shortage and proposes solutions. The authors emphasize the global nature of the nursing shortage and the importance of international cooperation in addressing the issue. They contend that global and local policy interventions are required to attract and retain nurses, improve working conditions, and provide leadership support. According to the authors, addressing the nursing shortage is critical for ensuring the quality and sustainability of healthcare systems worldwide.

How the Healthcare Issue/Stressor is Addressed in other Organizations

Based on the findings from the two articles, addressing the nursing shortages is crucial since it ensures an improvement in the sustainability and quality of healthcare systems globally. Therefore, some organizations are developing policy interventions to attract and retain nurses. The other approaches adopted include improving the working conditions and offering the necessary leadership support to ensure adequate provision of the required resources and the successful implementation of the policies.

Summary of the Strategies Utilized in Addressing the Organizational Impact of the National Healthcare Issue/Stressor in the Scholarly Resources Selected and How it can Positively and Negatively Impact the Organization

The first article by Susan et al. (2017) suggests recruiting and retaining more nurses, providing leadership support, and improving working conditions. These strategies may positively impact my organization by reducing nurse burnout, improving patient safety and quality of care, and increasing job satisfaction and retention rates. For example, providing leadership support and improving working conditions may help reduce stress and prevent unethical behavior among nurses, resulting in better patient outcomes. These strategies, however, may have negative consequences, such as increased labor costs and the need for additional resources to support recruitment and retention efforts.

The second article by Mar et al. (2019) proposes policies at the global and local levels to attract and retain nurses, improve working conditions, and provide leadership support. These strategies may positively impact my Organization by addressing the underlying causes of the nursing shortage and ensuring a long-term workforce. For example, policies that improve working conditions and provide leadership support may increase job satisfaction and lower turnover rates. These strategies, however, may have negative consequences, such as potential conflicts with organizational goals or policies and the need for additional resources to implement new policies.
